A Braided Crown: Present & Past

^^April 2013^^

This past Friday Jake and I planned an afternoon date. As I got dressed in my new banana republic pleated sleeveless blouse the warm spring air breezed through my window and I began to feel quite whimsical. I decided my hair should feel whimsical too. I'd seen this braided crown make its' rounds on Pinterest as well as on my favorite blog read A Cup Of Jo and had been wanting to try it out for months. Since I was feeling inspired by the romance of a leisurely day in the sun with my husband I decided Friday was the perfect opportunity for a hair experiment. It was surprisingly easy and even more surprisingly, it stayed put all day long.

The steps are simple, part hair, braid hair, wrap braids around the front and back of your head and secure with bobby pins. A Cup of Jo has an excellent selection of hair tutorial posts that I've been excited to try. This braided crown was just the first. I'm going to invest in some tiny hair ties and bobby pins for the next go around. Let me know if you have an requests!

  1. Love it! I think step 1 is "have incredibly long, luscious locks"
